Meeting Tyrone Power

Debbie had a brief marriage with actor Nico Minardos and had also been in a relationship with the legendary Elvis Presley. However, it was when she met Tyrone Power that their lives changed forever. Power, who had sworn off marriage, was instantly captivated by the young, cheerful, and beautiful Debbie. They met at a lunch with friends and were immediately smitten with each other.

The Marriage and Tragic Loss

In 1958, Power broke his vow and married Debbie, adding the surname Minardos to her name. The wedding took place on May 7th in a Presbyterian church in Debbie's hometown. Soon after, Debbie became pregnant with what they hoped would be a son for Power, who already had daughters from a previous marriage. Their marriage lasted only six months, but those who knew Power claimed he had never been happier during that brief period. Sadly, their bliss was short-lived. While in Madrid for the filming of the movie "Solomon and Sheba," Power suffered a fatal heart attack in September 1958.

Life After Tyrone Power

Devastated by the loss, Debbie had a difficult time accepting the news of Power's death. She had planned to accompany him on a European trip after the film's completion. Overwhelmed with grief, Debbie requested that Power's previous wife, Linda Christian, and their children stay away from the funeral. Debbie stood by Power's casket throughout the ceremony. Two months after Power's death, their son Tyrone William Power IV was born.

Later Life and Death

In September 1959, Debbie remarried Arthur Loew Jr., but the marriage ended in a divorce. Little information is available about Debbie's life after her second marriage. However, her obituary published in the Tunica Times in April 2006 sheds some light on her later years. She passed away on April 3, 2006, from complications following a stroke. Debbie Minardos left behind two sons, Tyrone Power and Gerald Loew, a daughter, Cheryl Howard Harrison, and two grandchildren.
