Childhood and Youth

Dennis Rodman was born in Trenton, New Jersey. His father, Philander Rodman, a Vietnam War veteran, left his wife and three children and moved to the Philippines. Dennis later revealed in an interview that his father was extremely loving and had 47 other children. His mother, Shirley Rodman, worked three jobs to support Dennis and his two sisters. While his sisters excelled in basketball and earned scholarships, Dennis showed little interest in academics or the sport. He frequently got into trouble and was even arrested for theft. However, his mother convinced him to attend college, hoping he would also play basketball. Dennis eventually excelled in his last year of high school and was named the best player in his college team.

In 1983, Dennis moved to Oklahoma to play for the Southeastern Oklahoma State University team. He played three years, becoming the team's leader and best player. In 1986, he entered the NBA draft and was selected by the Detroit Pistons in the second round. Dennis played for the Pistons for seven years, winning two NBA championships and earning the title of the best rebounder in the league. He also gained attention for his eccentric appearance and behavior. In 1993, he joined the San Antonio Spurs, and later played for the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, and Dallas Mavericks. He won three more NBA championships during his time with the Bulls. In 2011, Dennis was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Dennis Rodman's personal life has been as colorful as his basketball career. He had a brief relationship with Madonna in 1994, which ended due to their conflicting desires to have children. He later sold love letters from Madonna to the press. Dennis has been married three times. His first wife was Annie Bakes, with whom he had a daughter named Alexis. His second marriage was to model Carmen Electra, which lasted only a week. In 2003, he married Michelle Moyer, and they had two children together. Their marriage was filled with domestic violence incidents, and they divorced in 2012. Dennis has had legal and financial troubles, including issues with alcoholism and bankruptcy.

In 2013, Dennis Rodman participated in the HBO project "Vice" and visited North Korea, where he had a formal dinner with Kim Jong-un. He has also expressed his desire to organize a basketball game between North Korea and the American territory of Guam to ease tensions. Dennis continues to make public appearances, entertain as a part of the "Prince Marketing Group," and maintain a vibrant presence on social media. He has also dabbled in acting, appearing in films and television shows throughout his career.
