Early Life and Career
Born in Belgrade, Serbia, Nemanja Bjelica began his professional basketball career in 2007. He played for various European clubs before entering the prestigious NBA draft in 2010.
NBA Draft and Trade
In the 2010 NBA Draft, Bjelica was selected 14th overall by the Washington Wizards. However, his NBA journey took a turn when the Wizards traded his rights to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Minnesota Timberwolves
On July 14, 2015, Bjelica officially signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He made his NBA debut in the season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers, contributing 8 points and 5 rebounds to the team's victory.
International Career
Bjelica has represented Serbia at various international basketball tournaments. In 2009, he played a key role in Serbia's gold medal victory at the Summer Universiade in Belgrade. Later that year, he made his debut with the senior Serbian national team at the European Championship in Poland, where Serbia finished as runners-up.
