Willcocks served as organist in various British cathedrals, including Worcester Cathedral, St. Mary Redcliffe, and St. George's, Hanover Square, where he held the position from 1972 to 2000.
Conducting Accomplishments
In 1952, David Willcocks founded the Tilford Bach Festival, a renowned annual event celebrating the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. He led the festival until 2002, shaping its artistic vision and repertoire. In 1978, he founded the London Handel Festival, which showcased the neglected compositions of George Frideric Handel, notably including the opera "Sulla," which he revived and recorded in 2000.
