Early Life and Career at Metz

Diarra Sakho, a Senegalese football striker, began his career at FC Metz. In 2009, he rose through the ranks, scoring 17 goals in 22 matches for the reserve team. His impressive performance earned him a spot on the senior squad for the championship.

On January 19, 2010, Sakho made his Ligue 2 debut against Brest. He netted his first goal for Metz on September 10, 2010, in a match against Nantes. Despite his goal-scoring prowess, Sakho remained a rotational player until 2012, when he joined Boulogne on loan to gain regular playing time.

Breakthrough at Boulogne and Move to England

At Boulogne, Sakho's performance soared. In the 2013/14 season, he scored 20 goals in 37 matches, earning him the title of Player of the Championship. He also played a pivotal role in the club's promotion to Ligue 1. In the summer of 2014, Sakho made a substantial move to West Ham United in England for a transfer fee of £4.5 million.

Stardom at West Ham United

Sakho made his English Premier League debut on August 23 against Crystal Palace. On September 15, he scored his first goal for West Ham against Hull City. Sakho's goalscoring streak continued for six consecutive matches, including game-winning goals against Liverpool and Manchester City.

However, Sakho's success was marred by an arrest in August 2015 on charges of domestic violence and threats to kill. He was released on bail.

Return to France and Rennes

In early 2018, Sakho returned to France, signing a two-year contract with Rennes for a transfer fee of €10 million. He made his Rennes debut on February 4 against Guingamp. On February 17, Sakho scored his first goals for Rennes in a match against Caen.

International Career

Sakho made his Senegal national team debut on May 21, 2014, in a friendly match against Burkina Faso. He scored his first international goal on May 25, 2014, against Kosovo.
