Biography of Dietrich Mateschitz

Dietrich Mateschitz, an Austrian businessman and billionaire, dedicated all of his financial savings to the realization of a project. He was confident that it would succeed, and indeed it did. By 1990, Mateschitz was in the black, and three years later, he decided to introduce his energy drink to the global market, with Hungary being the first country to experience Red Bull, followed by Germany. The worldwide popularity and recognition of the energy drink speak for themselves and for Mateschitz.

Early Life and Education

Dietrich Mateschitz was born on May 20, 1944. He spent his childhood in the small town of Styria. Despite the desire of his elders to educate him thoroughly, he struggled with his studies. Even as a student at the University of Vienna, Mateschitz did not excel academically, earning his university degree only after ten years. Mateschitz was always a joker who loved parties and entertainment. However, after completing his studies, he decided to take his career seriously.

Professional Career

After some time, Mateschitz interned at Unilever, where he promoted various cleaning products. Due to his exceptional activity and proactivity, he quickly climbed the career ladder and became the marketing director of the popular global brand Blendax - toothpaste.

After trading toothpaste in different regions of the world, Mateschitz realized that he wanted to start his own business. One day, he read in the newspaper about a Japanese man who had launched an energy drink. After some time, Mateschitz had a clear plan for his next steps.

At the age of forty, Mateschitz left his previous job and obtained permission to sell energy drinks in Austria. It took him three years to achieve this. Few believed in the success of Mateschitz's enterprise. Most were convinced that he was making a big mistake. However, Mateschitz was determined to pursue his goal. He asked a childhood friend to design the future can for the drink. Bulls impressed him the most.

Eventually, a slogan was developed that proved to be fateful for both Mateschitz and his product: "Red Bull gives you wings." Mateschitz used up all his financial savings to implement the project. He was confident that it would succeed, and indeed it did. By 1990, Mateschitz was in the black, and three years later, he decided to introduce his energy drink to the global market, with Hungary being the first country to experience Red Bull, followed by Germany.

Current Success

Currently, Red Bull continues to soar. A few years ago, Mateschitz sold 500 million cans, and there is no stopping its success.
