Biography of Dinara Safina

Early Life and Childhood

Dinara Mubinovna Safina was born on April 27, 1986, in the USSR. She grew up in a sports-oriented family, alongside her brother Marat Safin, who became a well-known Russian tennis player. Her mother, Ruza Islanova, a former graduate of the Moscow Institute of Physical Culture, worked as a coach after her professional career. In addition to her son and daughter, she trained several Russian champions. Her father, Mubin Alekseevich, was the director of a tennis club in the capital and provided a training ground for his wife, who trained with the children. With this approach, Dinara started participating in children's tournaments at the age of 7 and quickly mastered the technique of attacking from the baseline, using powerful shots to return far-flying balls. In 1999, she became a member of the national team that won the international ITF youth tournament, reaching the final of the Wimbledon Championships and almost winning the title at the "Roland Garros" in a doubles match with Mateja Mezak.

Tennis Career

As Safina's biography was associated with the Spanish city of Valencia from a young age, her professional career began there. In the early 2000s, she competed in a series of low-level tournaments in Mallorca and then played trial matches in Madrid, but failed to qualify for the playoffs in her debut WTA tournaments. These results allowed Dinara to participate in the qualifying rounds of the Grand Slam and consolidate her achievements in the new season. As a result, entering the top 100 of the world rankings, the tennis player fought well against her opponents in the top 20 and reached the decisive stage in competitions in Melbourne, Paris, and Beijing. A year later, she demonstrated her skills in doubles and reached the quarterfinals of a prestigious tournament, while also reaching the finals in low-level categories several times. In 2006, steadily improving with each match, Safina climbed the world rankings and made it to the playoffs of several tournaments, including the US Open and Roland Garros. However, in the following season, after losing in the final to Elena Jankovic on the grass in Charleston, her results declined, and she did not reach the WTA final. Thanks to her collaboration with Croatian coach Zeljko Krajan, Dinara managed to overcome this crisis. By the beginning of the summer competitions in 2008, the Russian achieved victory at a prestigious tournament in Germany and won two titles in doubles at the Australian Grand Prix in Brisbane and the American Indian Wells Masters. In the late 2000s, Safina continued to participate in international competitions alongside the strongest tennis players, but each time she reached the final, she was defeated by Svetlana Kuznetsova, Elena Dementieva, or the Williams sisters. Nevertheless, at a certain stage of her preparation, she managed to win in a series of top-tier tournaments. However, luck turned away from her at the Grand Slam tournament in France. Despite this, Safina began the 2010 season as the world's number one player, but after the initial matches, she started experiencing back problems. As a result, according to the athlete's admission in one of her interviews with Russian media, she had to take long breaks between competitions and undergo treatment courses in the summer, winter, and spring.

Personal Life

Almost nothing is known about Safina's personal life, and sarcastic journalists say that with her height of 185 cm (weight 76 kg), it is difficult for her to find a suitable partner who could become a husband and father of her children. Fans believe that haters are just envious - the attractive girl lived first in New York and then in Monaco and could afford to sunbathe on a yacht in a swimsuit, but in order not to "tease the dog", Dinara does not post such photos on Twitter and Instagram.
