Early Life and Career in Brazil
Diogo Pires was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He began his professional football career with hometown club São Paulo FC, where he played alongside notable players such as Kaká, Júlio Baptista, and Cléber. After a stint with União Barbarense, he moved to the Czech Republic in 2005 to join Mladá Boleslav.
Journey to Ukraine
On February 3, 2006, Pires signed a three-year contract with Karpaty Lviv in Ukraine. He joined forces with fellow Brazilian Batista and made his debut in the Ukrainian First League against IgroService Simferopol on March 14, 2006. Karpaty earned promotion to the Ukrainian Premier League after finishing second in the 2005/06 season, with Pires contributing in 10 matches.
Return to Brazil and Europe
After his time in Ukraine, Pires returned to his homeland to play for Santo André. In 2008, he became a free agent and joined Slovak club Slovan Bratislava.
Personal Life
Pires is married and his family resides in São Paulo. He enjoys playing cards and surfing the internet in his spare time. Notably, his father is renowned former footballer Valdir Peres.
