Early Life and Education
Dmitry Andriyevsky was born on January 6, 1967, in Olga, Primorsky Krai, USSR. He graduated from high school in Rzhev, Kalinin Oblast, in 1984 and enrolled in the Kalinin Polytechnic Institute. In 1985, he served in the Soviet Army, including combat operations in Afghanistan.
Resuming Education and Entering Business
After completing his military service in 1987, Andriyevsky resumed his studies at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, graduating with honors in 1992 with a degree in energy supply engineering. He also holds a master's degree in state administration from the National Academy of State Administration under the President of Ukraine (2005) and a PhD in state administration (2011).
Andriyevsky began his career in 1992 as an engineer at the Kyiv Plant of Relays and Automation. From 1992 to 1996, he held various managerial positions in scientific and manufacturing organizations. From 1996 to 2001, he was the Head Representative of Franklin Group LTD (UK) in Ukraine.
High-Level Executive Roles
From 2001 to 2004, Andriyevsky served as vice president of the Kyiv Underground Construction Concern, and from 2004 to 2007, as its president. In 2008, he was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Inteko-Holding LLC.
Political Career
Andriyevsky's involvement in politics began in 2002 when he was elected to the Kyiv City Council, representing the "Our Ukraine" faction. During the 2004 presidential election campaign, he was a trusted person for presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko.
In 2006, he was re-elected to the Kyiv City Council, this time as a member of the "Our Ukraine" bloc. He became the leader of the "Our Ukraine" faction but resigned from the party in protest against corruption allegations.
Shift to Opposition
From 2008 onwards, Andriyevsky was affiliated with the Vitali Klitschko bloc. In that year, he was elected Chairman of the Ukrainian Peasant Democratic Party. During the 2012 parliamentary elections, he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada as a candidate from the United Opposition "Batkivshchyna."
Active Role in Political Events
Andriyevsky played an active role in the 2013-2014 Revolution of Dignity, organizing a deputy reception area in a tent on Independence Square. In the 2014 parliamentary elections, he was elected as a member of the "Petro Poroshenko Bloc."
Throughout the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine, Andriyevsky provided assistance to Ukrainian forces, delivering specialized vehicles and other aid. His efforts led to his inclusion in the Russian sanctions list in 2018.
