Biography of Dominique Morlotti
Dominique Morlotti is a French fashion designer whose collections embody a modern approach to traditional French fashion, combining elegance, sophistication, and delicacy. Born in Paris, Morlotti has built his solid experience in the fashion industry through constant exploration and a deep love for both strictness and sensuality.
Early Career
Throughout his career, Morlotti has worked with prestigious French brands, leading to long and fruitful partnerships with renowned labels. From 1976 to 1983, Morlotti held the position of artistic director for the menswear line of 'Pierre Balmain'. He then spent nine years, from 1983 to 1992, working at 'Christian Dior', where he also oversaw the menswear line. From 1992 to 1995, Morlotti served as the artistic director for the women's clothing line at 'Lanvin', while also working with menswear collections from 1992 to 2001. Additionally, Morlotti managed his own brand.
Artistic Contributions
Besides his work in fashion, Morlotti gained recognition as a talented costume designer, working on the design of costumes for numerous films and theatrical productions. His interest in the film industry extended further, and Morlotti wrote several original screenplays and directed short fantasy films, as well as creating documentaries about artists.
Passion for Music
Music is another great passion of Dominique Morlotti. He spent fifteen years studying the art of playing the classical organ and composed original musical accompaniments for film, theater, and his own fashion shows.
Current Endeavors
In recent years, Morlotti has taken a break from the fashion world, deciding to rest from the demands of the industry and return to his first passions: music, film, and photography. He currently resides in Paris and divides his time between Paris, London, and New York.
