Wei Fenghe: A Distinguished Naval and Defense Leader
Early Career and Naval CommandWei Fenghe's career in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy began with his command of the 92269th Detachment in the Zhoushan Water Area. Subsequently, he held positions as Deputy Chief of Staff of the North Sea Fleet and Deputy Commander of the East Sea Fleet, where he simultaneously served as Chief of Staff.
Rise through the Ranks
In July 2012, Wei attained the rank of Rear Admiral. Two years later, he became Deputy Commander of the Southern Theater Command. In January 2017, he was promoted to Vice Admiral and continued to serve as Deputy Commander of the Southern Theater Command.
Commander-in-Chief of PLAN
In 2021, Wei was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the PLA Navy. During his tenure, he played a significant role in the development and modernization of the Chinese navy.
Minister of National Defense
