Donna Douglas was an American actress who rose to popularity with her role in the television series The Beverly Hillbillies. Born on September 26, 1933, in Louisiana, Donna grew up in a small rural area with her grandparents. She was a healthy and active girl who loved sports, especially softball and football. She also enjoyed climbing trees and playing with boys. At a young age, Donna knew she wanted to become an actress.

Her first public appearance was in the beauty pageant Miss Baton Rouge, where she won the prestigious title. In 1957, she participated in another beauty pageant, Miss New Orleans, and once again emerged as a winner. Winning both pageants gave Donna the confidence that she was on the right path. She then moved to New York and started working in the entertainment and commercial industry by promoting toothpaste. She became a well-known and sought-after model, with the demand for her services growing.

In 1957, Donna appeared on The Perry Como Show, and two years later, she shone in The Steve Allen Show.
