Early Life and EducationHwang In-youp was born on January 19, 1991, in Uijeongbu, South Korea. As a child, Hwang moved to the Philippines, where he attended high school and later earned a bachelor's degree in fashion design from a local college.
Modeling Career
Hwang's towering height of 185 cm led him to assist his classmates as a model during college years. It was his mother who convinced him otherwise and sent him to work in a clothing store, which ultimately led to Hwang's decision to pursue fashion design.
Acting Debut
Web Dramas and Early RolesAfter completing his military service, Hwang made his professional modeling debut at the age of 26. He also began appearing in commercial photoshoots for various brands. Despite his shy and introverted nature, Hwang gradually gained confidence and ventured into acting. Following a nose job to address a facial insecurity, he attended auditions and made his acting debut in the web drama "Why." In 2019, he further expanded his filmography with the web series "Freshman" and the television drama "The Tale of Nokdu."

Hwang obtained a motorcycle license and attended a stunt school to perform most of his own stunts. He also re-learned singing for the film and recorded the soundtrack "It Starts Today."
The success of "True Beauty" catapulted Hwang to stardom, earning him comparisons to the legendary Korean actor Lee Joon-gi. He has expressed his gratitude for his late debut and his determination to work even harder than his colleagues.
Personal Life
Hwang In-youp is known for his private personal life. He had a brief relationship in high school that ended due to his parents' disapproval.
