Dragan Jovanović, known as "Pcelo moja, pcelice," was a renowned Yugoslav Serbian footballer and striker. His extraordinary footballing career and personal life are marked by remarkable achievements and a tragic end.

Early Career and Club Success

Born in 1903, Jovanović began his career in 1922 for the Belgrade club "Jugoslavija." Over the span of seven years, he played 252 matches and scored an astounding 331 goals. His exceptional goal-scoring prowess earned him the title of top scorer in the Yugoslav championship three consecutive years. With "Jugoslavija," he also claimed two Yugoslav Championship titles and one vice-championship.

International Career

Jovanović made his debut for the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (now Yugoslavia) national team on October 28, 1923. He played a significant role, notably scoring two goals in a 4-4 draw with Czechoslovakia. In total, Jovanović represented his country in 8 matches, scoring 4 goals. He was also part of the team that competed in the 1924 Olympics but did not play.

Post-Football Career and Tragedy

After retiring from playing, Dragan Jovanović held various administrative positions at his beloved club "Jugoslavija." However, his life was cut tragically short on June 2, 1936, when he was involved in a fatal car accident in Belgrade at the age of 33.
