Biography of Duncan Jones
Duncan Jones, a British film director, is best known for his film 'Moon'. He was born Duncan Zowie Haywood Jones in 1971 in London, United Kingdom. Duncan is the son of legendary British rock musician David Bowie and his former wife, American model Mary Angela Barnett, with whom they later divorced. Interestingly, David Bowie's song 'Kooks' from his album 'Hunky Dory' was written about the birth of his son.

Early Life
Duncan spent his childhood in Berlin, London, and the Swiss town of Vevey. After his parents' divorce, he lived with his father while visiting his mother during vacations and weekends. From a young age, Duncan dreamed of becoming a wrestler and possessed remarkable strength. However, when it came time to choose a profession, he enrolled at the College of Wooster, where he received a bachelor's degree in philosophy. He later attempted to pursue a doctorate at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee but became distracted by his passion for filmmaking at the London Film School, where he ultimately graduated as a film director.

Career
In 2000, Duncan Jones worked as one of the camera operators during his father's 50th-anniversary celebration at Madison Square Garden and two other venues. In 2002, he directed his first short film titled 'Whistle,' which had a unique storyline about a professional killer who murders people without leaving his own home or even taking off his slippers.

In 2009, Duncan Jones presented his debut feature film, the science fiction drama 'Moon.' The film tells the story of a man who spends three years on the moon, monitoring automated equipment for extracting rare gas. The British Academy named Jones's work the 'Best Debut' in 2010, and the film was also nominated for 'Best British Film.' Overall, the film received 19 different nominations and wins at various film festivals.

In 2011, he released another science fiction thriller, 'Source Code,' which revolves around a soldier who mysteriously finds himself in the body of an unknown man who died in a train accident. The main character relives the agonizing death of the stranger repeatedly and must uncover the truth behind the disaster.
Currently, Duncan Jones is working on the biographical action film 'Untitled Ian Fleming Biopic,' expected to be released in 2013. He was also considered as a potential director for 'Man of Steel' and 'Dredd,' but ultimately chose to pursue his own projects. There were rumors that he would be involved in the creation of 'The Wolverine,' but James Mangold was eventually announced as the director.
Additionally, Duncan is writing a screenplay for his latest film and is in negotiations to release a graphic novel. In 2006, he worked on a PR campaign for the fashion brand 'French Connection United Kingdom' (FCUK), creating a controversial advertisement titled 'Fashion vs Style,' which received numerous complaints but had no significant consequences.
