Biography of Tom Cochrane
Tom Cochrane is a legendary rock musician, vocalist, and composer. He has accumulated seven prestigious Juno Awards, which honor the best musicians in Canada. His name is engraved on the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. In addition, Tom Cochrane is an honorary colonel of the Canadian Air Force and an honorary doctor of Brandon University. He is considered one of the best Canadian musicians of our time. When you see his list of accomplishments, you can't help but wonder how people achieve all of this.

Tom Cochrane's passion for music has been the foundation of his success. He developed a love for music from a young age. He was born in Lynn Lake, Manitoba, Canada, and later moved to Ontario, where his family lived in several different cities. Tom didn't need any persuasion to pursue music; he was dedicated to it wholeheartedly. At the age of eleven, he traded a toy train for his first guitar. A few years later, he performed in coffee shops and traveled across Canada. He was just over 17 years old at the start of the 70s.

The path to becoming a professional musician was not easy for Tom Cochrane. He tried to find work in Los Angeles and even composed a musical theme for Javier Hallandera's film "My Pleasure, My Business." However, he eventually had to return to Canada, where he worked as a taxi driver in Toronto. His debts were piling up faster than his income, and he had to resort to working on a cruise liner to make ends meet.
The turning point in Tom's life came in 1978 when he joined the Canadian rock group Red Rider, becoming their lead vocalist and main composer for a decade. Together with Red Rider, Tom Cochrane released six full-length albums, not including hits compilations and singles. Since 1991, Cochrane has recorded several solo albums. He is internationally known for hits such as "Life Is a Highway," "Lunatic Fringe," "White Hot," "Boy Inside the Man," "Big League," and "I Wish You Well."
Currently, Tom Cochrane remains one of the most sought-after and highly paid artists in Canada. He performs live concerts, participates in tours, and engages in charitable work. He divides his free time between playing golf, flying planes, and playing hockey. Tom Cochrane is married and has two daughters. However, he considers his fans as his biggest inspiration rather than his close ones. "Nowadays, I love live performances more than ever," says Cochrane. "Fans bring my songs to life and are my main source of inspiration. Without them, there would be no music or songs."
