Biography of Edgar Ramirez
Edgar Ramirez Arellano, born on March 25, 1977, is a Venezuelan actor. He is best known for his role as Paz, a contract killer working for the CIA in the film "The Bourne Ultimatum". He has also played the Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar in the upcoming film "Killing Pablo" by Joe Carnahan.

Early Life and Education:
Edgar Ramirez was born in San Cristobal, Tachira, Venezuela to his mother Sodey Arellano, who worked as a public notary, and his father Filiberto Ramirez, who served in the military. He has a sister named Natali and a nephew named Enrico Alberto. Due to his father's job, Edgar spent most of his childhood traveling, which allowed him to become fluent in five languages - Spanish, Italian, German, English, and French.
Education:
Ramirez received his education at the Catholic University Andres Bello in Venezuela. He graduated from college in 1999 with a degree in mass communication and an additional degree in political communication, following his father's advice to become a diplomat. During his time in college, he also tried his hand at journalism, primarily focusing on political topics.
Early Career:
After college, Ramirez became the executive director of the Venezuelan public organization "Ngo Dale al Voto". Together with his team, he worked on campaigns to support radio channels, television channels, and movie theaters. However, even during those years, he was drawn to acting and had already started exploring this field in college. He promoted a short film project around the world, which he made with a group of friends. As a member of the jury, he was invited to a festival by screenwriter Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, who was a professor in Mexico at that time. Inarritu greatly appreciated Ramirez's work and offered him the lead role in his project "Amores Perros". However, Edgar declined the offer as he was heavily involved in his academic activities and had to attend a Model United Nations meeting at Harvard as a delegate from his school.
Acting Career:
Three years later, Inarritu returned to Venezuela from the Cannes Film Festival, where his film received the Critics' Week prize. The film was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. It was at this moment that Ramirez finally made his decision to pursue acting. He started with soap operas and gradually improved his professional skills. His most successful character to date is the elite CIA assassin from the film "The Bourne Ultimatum".
