Armen Kakosyan is an Armenian footballer who plays as a midfielder. He is known for his stints with Banants and Impuls in the Armenian Premier League.

Early Career

Kakosyan began his professional career in 2004 with Spartak-2 Yerevan in the Armenian First League. In 2005, he joined Banants and quickly became a fixture in the team's starting lineup.

Success with Banants

With Banants, Kakosyan achieved several noteworthy accomplishments. In 2006, he won a silver medal in the Armenian Premier League. The following season, he again finished as a runner-up but also lifted the Armenian Cup with his team. Kakosyan was also a finalist in the Armenian Cup in 2008, 2009, and 2010.

Departure from Banants

In June 2010, Kakosyan expressed his desire to leave Banants. The club management supported his decision and began searching for a new club for him. However, a potential move to Shakhtyor Soligorsk in Belarus fell through. Kakosyan was subsequently released from Banants and did not participate in the remaining matches of the season.

Impuls and National Team Debut

Later in 2010, Kakosyan signed with Impuls Dilijan. He made his international debut for Armenia on August 12, 2009, in a match against Moldova. Kakosyan also made appearances against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, and Turkey in Armenia's World Cup 2014 qualifying campaign.

Controversy and Retirement

In 2011, Kakosyan was involved in a controversial incident involving the president of the Football Federation of Armenia, Ruben Hayrapetyan. Kakosyan was allegedly slapped by Hayrapetyan for using profanity. Kakosyan retired from football shortly after this incident.
