Early Career and Achievements

Edouard Zankovets began his hockey career in 1986 with Minsk Dynamo. From 1986 to 1988, he played in the first Soviet League before making his debut in the top league from 1988 to 1991. After the dissolution of the USSR, he remained with Dynamo in the MHL and Belarusian Extraleague. In 1993-94, he played for Tivali.

In 1994-96, Zankovets moved to the MHL to represent Avangard Omsk. He then spent the 1996-98 season in the 2nd Bundesliga and 1998-99 in the 1st Bundesliga. From 1999-2000, he played in the SM-Liiga, and in 2000-01, he competed in a lower-tier North American league. Zankovets concluded his playing career with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the Russian Championship.

International Career

Zankovets was a member of the first official Belarusian national hockey team. He represented his country from 1994 to 2002, accumulating 50 games and 32 points. He participated in the 1998 and 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

Coaching Career

Zankovets' coaching career commenced in 2007 when he led Minsk Dynamo from January 21 to May 31. He served as the head coach of the Belarusian national team from 2010 to 2011. On December 20, 2011, he was appointed assistant coach of HC Avangard. Zankovets left this position on March 26, 2015.

On September 7, 2016, he became the head coach of HC Barys and the Kazakhstan national hockey team. On October 6, 2017, he was named the head coach of HC Slovan.
