Biography of Kateryna Kostenko
Kateryna Kostenko is a former Ukrainian pair skater who competed with Roman Talan. Together, they achieved notable success on the national and international levels.
Partnership with Roman Talan
Kostenko and Talan began skating together during the 2007-2008 season. They quickly rose through the ranks, capturing the Ukrainian National Championship title in 2009. In the absence of the stronger Ukrainian pair, Tatiana Volosozhar and Stanislav Morozov, Kostenko and Talan earned a spot on the Ukrainian team for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, where they finished 20th.
Post-Competition Career
After retiring from competitive skating, Kostenko and Talan pursued coaching together. Notably, they trained the pair of Elizaveta Usmatseva and Vladislav Lisovoi.
In an unexpected turn of events, Talan returned to competitive skating in 2013, partnering with their former pupil, Elizaveta Usmatseva. Kostenko remained involved in their training, supporting her husband and his new partner.
Personal Life
Kostenko married Roman Talan in 2011. They welcomed their daughter into the world in February 2012.
