Ekaterina Vladimirovna Varnava was born on December 9, 1984, in a military family. Right after her birth, her family moved to Germany, where her father was stationed. Katya returned to Russia when she was seven years old. She had two older brothers, Igor and Alexey. Growing up in a military town in Germany, Ekaterina finished her first grade there and then transferred to a school in Moscow. She had a hard time fitting in with her Moscow classmates, who saw her luxurious possessions, such as a beautiful pencil case, as showing off. This resulted in her being an outcast for a long time. Early Career

From a young age, Ekaterina Varnava was involved in ballroom dancing. Her parents believed she had a bright future as a dancer, and she also saw herself pursuing dance professionally. However, during her teenage years, Varnava grew too tall and outgrew her dance partners. This led to difficulties in finding a suitable partner. When she finally found one, she had to give up dancing due to a back injury caused by a fall during training. Despite the setback, Varnava still wanted to pursue a career in choreography and enrolled in the University of Culture. However, she was unable to get into that university and ended up receiving a degree in Jurisprudence from the Humanities Faculty of MISiS. Despite her education, she did not pursue a career in law.

In 2003, Ekaterina Varnava started performing for the KVN team "Svoi Sekrety" while still a student. In 2005, she joined the "Sbornaya Malikh Narodov" team and became a regular member. She appeared on television with her teammates in 2004 during the Music Competition 1/4 finals of the Premier League. After the Premier League 2005 season, Varnava became a permanent member of the "Sbornaya Malikh Narodov" team. In the same year, she played in the Premier League and reached the fourth place in the finals. In 2006, Varnava and her team participated in the KVN Festival in Sochi and earned a spot in the KVN Supreme League. However, their first game in the Supreme League was unsuccessful. After the KVN Festival in Sochi in 2007, the "Sbornaya Malikh Narodov" team disbanded, and Varnava continued to play only for the "Svoi Sekrety" team.
