Early Life and Education

In 1969, the Ukrainian politician was born in Lutsk. She attended the Lutsk Pedagogical Institute from 1969 to 1974, graduating as a history teacher. Later, she pursued economics at the Lviv Agrarian University from 1998 to 2001.

Political Career

Rise in Ukrainian People's Party

In 1996, she joined the Ukrainian People's Party (UNP). From 1997 to 1999, she served as the party's leader.

Parliamentary Roles

The politician was elected as a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for four terms: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th. She initially represented a single-mandate constituency in the Volyn region on the Rural Party of Ukraine's ticket (1994) and later on the Agrarian Party of Ukraine's list (1998). In 2002, she was elected on the "For a United Ukraine!" bloc's list.

Candidacies

She unsuccessfully ran for the Verkhovna Rada in 2006 (on the Litvin People's Bloc ticket) and 2007 (on the Litvin Bloc list).

Party of Regions Affiliation

In 2012, she was elected to Parliament on the Party of Regions' list and became a member of the Sovereign European Ukraine faction.

Awards and Recognition

The politician received numerous awards, including the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Badge of Honour, and the Order of Merit of all three degrees. She was also recognized as an Honored Worker of Agriculture of Ukraine (1993).

Personal Life

Her daughter, Tatiana, is married to the eldest son of Petro Symonenko.
