Elena Lepeshinskaya: Belarusian Checkers Champion
Early Life and EducationElena Lepeshinskaya was a renowned Soviet and Belarusian checkers player. She was born and raised in Minsk, Belarus. In 1981, she graduated from Minsk Secondary School No. 98.
Checker Achievements
Lepeshinskaya had an exceptional career in checkers-100. She was a four-time USSR Champion (1978, 1979, 1982, 1989) and a five-time World Champion (1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986). Her outstanding performances earned her various titles: Master of Sports (1978), Grandmaster of the USSR (1983), and International Grandmaster (1984).
Higher Education and Honors
In 1986, Lepeshinskaya graduated from the Belarusian Technological Institute. For her achievements in checkers, she was awarded the prestigious title of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR in 1985.
Personal Life and Later Years
In 1991, Lepeshinskaya moved to Germany with her husband, Vadim Virny, an international checkers grandmaster. She has resided there since.
