Early Life and Education

Political figure and economist from the Republic of Kazakhstan,she graduated from the Almaty Institute of Economics and Finance.

Career in the Public Sector

Beginning in 1983, she held several positions in various businesses in the real sector of the economy until 1993. From 1993 to 2001, she served as a leading economist, chief economist, deputy director, and director of the Budget Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In April 2001, she became Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Subsequently, in August 2002, she was appointed Director of the Regulation Department for Accumulative Pension Funds of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From September 2002 onward, she assumed a series of leadership roles within the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including Director of the Financial Supervision Department and, from January 2004, Deputy Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market and Financial Institutions.

Leadership in Financial Regulation

In January 2008, she became Chair of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market and Financial Institutions. She held this position until January 2012, when she joined AO "Samruk-Kazyna" as Deputy Chairman of the Management Board.

Since February 2013, she has also served as Chair of the Board of Directors of AO "BTA Bank".

Personal Life

She is married to Yevgeny Vasilyevich Bakhmutov and has one son, Andrey (born 1986).
