Biographical Summary

Serhiy Osachuk is a prominent Ukrainian historian, translator, public figure, and current Chairman of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration.

Early Life and Education

Osachuk was born in Ukraine and graduated from the History Faculty of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi State University in 1994. He earned his doctorate in Historical Sciences in 1999.

Academic and Professional Career

Osachuk has served as a researcher at the Center for Bukovina Studies at Chernivtsi University. He has authored and published several monographs focusing on regional history and interethnic relations. Prior to his political career, he worked as Deputy Director of the Metalist Factory.

Diplomatic and Public Service

In 2013, Osachuk was appointed Honorary Consul of Austria in Chernivtsi. He has actively participated in public life, serving as an unpaid advisor to the Mayor of Chernivtsi on cultural policy and international relations. He also leads the Chernivtsi City NGO "My Hometown" and the "Agency for Regional Development of Chernivtsi Oblast."

Political Career

Osachuk's political journey began in 2010 when he ran unsuccessfully for the Chernivtsi City Council from the Unity Party. He later worked as an advisor to the Mayor of Chernivtsi, Oleksiy Kaspruk. Since 25 October 2019, he has served as the Chairman of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration.
