Yuliia Oleksandrivna Zavhorodnya was born on October 18, 1971, in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. She graduated from Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University with a degree in biology and chemistry and from Kryvyi Rih Economic Institute with a degree in economics.
Academic Career
From 1996 to 2019, Zavhorodnya worked at Kryvyi Rih Economic Institute. In 2004, she earned her Candidate of Geological Sciences degree with a dissertation on the environmental issues of Kryvyi Rih. She has authored over 70 scientific works, including articles, monographs, and textbooks.
Political Career
In the 2019 Ukrainian parliamentary election, Zavhorodnya was elected as a People's Deputy for constituency No. 32 (part of Kryvyi Rih) from the "Servant of the People" party. In December 2019, she joined the inter-factional association "Humane Country," which advocates for animal protection.
On December 7, 2020, Zavhorodnya was included in the Russian government's sanctions list against Ukrainian individuals.
