Eleonora Forenza: A Champion for Progressive Politics

Early Life and Education

Eleonora Forenza was born and raised in Bari, Italy. She embarked on her academic journey at the University of Bari, graduating with honors in Literature in 2002. In 2006, she earned a PhD in Italian Language Research from the same university.

Academic Pursuits

Forenza's academic pursuits did not end there. In 2016, she obtained a PhD in Women's and Gender History from "L'Orientale" University in Naples, specializing in feminism and the Italian Communist Party. Additionally, she served as a research fellow in political thought history at the University of Rome III.

Political Career

Member of the European Parliament

In 2014, Forenza entered the political arena and was elected as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from the European United Left-Nordic Green Left (GUE/NGL) group. As a member of the GUE/NGL, she represents the interests of progressive and left-wing parties across Europe.

Advocate for Culture and Communication

Within the European Parliament, Forenza holds the position of Spokesperson for Culture and Communication for the Communist Refoundation Party (PRC). She is a staunch advocate for policies that promote cultural diversity, media pluralism, and access to information for all.

Other Affiliations

Beyond her political roles, Forenza is actively involved in various organizations that share her progressive values. She is a member of Femministe Nove, a feminist platform, and serves on the board of trustees of the International Gramsci Society.
