Alison Taylor Swift (born December 13, 1989) is a pop singer-songwriter. She rose to fame in 2006 with her debut single "Tim McGraw," released when she was just 16 years old. Taylor was heavily influenced by her grandmother, an opera singer, and the performer LeAnn Rimes. At the age of ten, Taylor began competing in karaoke contests in her hometown, as well as at festivals and fairs. At eleven, she traveled to Nashville in hopes of recording a demo. It was at eleven years old that Taylor was given the opportunity to perform the national anthem at the opening of the 76th Philadelphia Games.

At twelve years old, Taylor started learning to play the guitar, practicing for four hours a day until her fingers bled. Her parents fully supported her musical talent, and the family regularly visited Nashville, where they made connections in the music industry. After moving to a suburb of Nashville, Taylor performed her original compositions at café showcases, which caught the attention of music industry veteran Scott Borchetta. Borchetta was planning to start a new record label and Taylor became one of the first artists he wanted to sign. While still attending high school and dreaming of love (which served as her muse), Taylor released her debut single "Tim McGraw" in August 2006, which preceded the release of her self-titled debut album, "Taylor Swift," on October 24, 2006. In 2007, Taylor delighted her fans with the Christmas compilation album "Sounds of the Season: The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection," which was released on October 14, 2007.
