Emily Hayward: A Cancer Warrior's Farewell
Battling Cancer with GraceEmily Hayward, a British personal trainer and vlogger, shared an emotional farewell message with her social media followers as she anticipated her approaching end of life. In a heartfelt address to her 18,500 Instagram followers, she wrote, "Hey guys, I've been kicking cancer's butt for eight years, but my body is tired. I've done everything I wanted and more."
Support and Love from Afar
Emily expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from her followers, who had witnessed her unwavering spirit throughout her cancer journey. "Surrounded by those who love me," she wrote, "I leave you all with peace."

At the age of 24, Emily captured the hearts of thousands when she began documenting her cancer battle on YouTube. For years, she had fought against the devastating disease, which originated from a malignant melanoma on her leg. With over 50,000 subscribers, she shared her progress and revealed that in March 2018, doctors had discovered metastases in her hip and brain.
A Love Story in the Face of Adversity
The devastating news prompted Emily to propose to her partner of four years, Aisha Hasan. They were married a few weeks later in April. Emily, who hailed from Canterbury, Kent, shared her final Instagram post alongside their wedding photos. Her 26-year-old wife penned a touching message beneath the images, saying, "I love you so dearly. You are my soulmate, everything I ever wanted. You may not be here physically, but my heart will always be filled with you."
Early Life and Fitness Passion
Emily was a student at the Chaucer School in Canterbury and worked as a fitness instructor at a recreation center. After undergoing extensive surgery to remove the cancerous mole on her leg, she enjoyed two years of remission. However, in 2013, scans revealed that the disease had spread to her lymph nodes in her groin.
"I was a personal trainer at the time but had to give up work because of the surgery," Emily told the Kentish Gazette. "It was probably the worst part of the whole thing."
Hope and Relapse
Surgeons successfully removed the life-threatening lymph nodes, and Emily clung to the hope that her ordeal was finally behind her. Still, the thought that the cancer could return at any moment was never far from her mind. Sure enough, a scan in 2015 detected cancer cells in her liver, lungs, and brain.
"I ended up having to give up driving, which I hated," she said.
Final Days in BromleyAs Emily's condition worsened, she and Aisha moved to the London borough of Bromley to be closer to the hospital where she was receiving treatment. "I don't know where my cancer came from," Emily said. "I'm not a sunbed or sun worshipper."
"I'm just a bit of a tomboy, really. I suppose I was just unlucky."
She added, "The last few years in particular have been tough, but I'm not done fighting yet."
