Early Life and Career

Emma Jørgensen, a Danish kayaker, was born on January 30, 1996. Her passion for kayaking began at a young age, and she trained diligently in a suburb of Copenhagen under the guidance of Hungarian coach Zoltán Bakó.

Success on the International Stage

Jørgensen's international career took off in 2014 when she joined the Danish national team and competed in the World Championships in Moscow. Partnering with Henriette Engel Hansen, she emerged victorious in the double canoe 1000-meter event. Two years later, at the European Championships in Moscow, she secured a bronze medal in the single canoe 500-meter race, finishing behind Danuta Kozák of Hungary and Franziska Weber of Germany.

Olympic Silver and Bronze Medals

Her impressive performances earned Jørgensen a place at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. In the single canoe 500-meter event, she qualified for the final after placing second in the preliminary and semifinal heats, behind Kozák. In the final, she once again finished second behind Kozák, securing the silver medal. Additionally, she competed in the quadruple canoe 500-meter event, where the Danish team finished sixth.

Recent Achievements

Following her Olympic success, Jørgensen continued to excel. She became European Games champion in 2019 and won another bronze medal at the European Championships. She also became a world champion and has triumphed in numerous national and international regattas.
