Early Life and Education

Emma Kari was born in 1983 in Espoo, Finland, to Ilkka Kari, a politician from the Coalition Party. She graduated from Viherlaakso School in Espoo and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of Helsinki. In 2018, she completed her Master's in Philosophy, also from the University of Helsinki.

Political Career

Municipal Council (2008-2015)

Kari's political journey began with her election to the Helsinki City Council in 2008. She served as Deputy Chairperson of the Education and Training Committee and later became Chairperson of the Council's Green Party faction and Deputy Mayor of Helsinki.

Parliament (2015-Present)

In 2015, Kari was elected to the Finnish Parliament (Eduskunta), representing the Helsinki constituency. She has held various leadership positions within the Green Party's parliamentary group and has chaired the Environment Committee. She is currently a member of the Education and Environment Committees.
