Born: April 7, 1999, Nottingham, EnglandEmma Wilson was born into a family of sailors, with her mother, Penny, competing in the 1992 and 1996 Olympics. Wilson began sailing at a young age, winning the U15 Techno 293 World Championship at age 12. She later took up windsurfing and rapidly rose through the ranks.
Junior Success and International Recognition
RS:X World Junior Champion: 2016, 2017Wilson's talent and dedication became evident as she claimed consecutive RS:X World Junior Championship titles in 2016 and 2017. Her performances earned her the recognition of British Sailing, who awarded her the Windsurfer of the Year 2017/18.
Road to the Olympics
RS:X European Champion: 2018, 2019Wilson continued to impress on the international stage, winning the RS:X European Championship in 2018 and 2019. Her consistent performances earned her a spot on the British team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
