Jean-Claude Casadesus: A Renowned French Conductor
Early Life and Education:Jean-Claude Casadesus was born into a Jewish family in Paris, with his father hailing from the Russian Empire and his mother from Poland. His early passion was music, and he studied violin and viola at the Paris Conservatory. To enhance his skills, he further participated in master classes led by renowned musicians Генрик Шеринг and Иегуди Менухин.
Awards and Recognition as a Performer:
Casadesus showcased his exceptional talent as a performer, earning multiple awards. Notably, he achieved the sixth prize at the prestigious Paganini Competition in 1968. However, his encounter with Karl Böhm inspired him to shift his focus towards conducting.
Conductorships with Prestigious Orchestras:
Casadesus's conducting career took flight in 1976 when he became the musical director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France. From 1987 to 2000, he led the National Orchestra of Lyon, further solidifying his reputation. In 2006, he assumed the role of music director for the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra.
