Early Life and Education
Kazakhstan statesman, was born on May 21, 1970, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He completed his education at the Republican Physics and Mathematics Boarding School in Almaty in 1987. Subsequently, in 1992, he graduated from the Almaty Energy Institute, where he specialized in electronic engineering.
Career in Banking and Government
After his graduation, he worked in several banking institutions. In 1997, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board of Bank TuranAlem and later became Chairman of the Board of ATF Bank.
In 1998, he became an advisor to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. His career in government continued when he was appointed as Vice Minister of Energy, Industry and Trade in July 1998. In February 2000, he became Vice Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan.
Appointment as Chairman of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan
In May 2001, he was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. In January 2002, he was appointed as Chairman of the Kazakhstan Agency for the Regulation of Natural Monopolies, Protection of Competition and Support of Small Business.
Minister of Finance and Minister of Healthcare
From 2003 to 2004, he served as Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan. Later, from April 5, 2004, to September 2006, he held the position of Minister of Healthcare of Kazakhstan.
Current Role
Presently, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of KazInvestBank.
