Biography of Eric Avery
Eric Avery is an American musician and talented bass guitarist, best known as a member of the rock band "Jane's Addiction". He was born on April 25, 1965, into a family of actor Brian Avery, who was quite popular in the late 1950s.
Early Life and Musical Career
Eric Avery's musical career is closely connected to the band Jane's Addiction, where he initially played from 1985 to 1991, and then rejoined in 2008. Avery met guitarist Dave Navarro at St. Paul the Apostle Grammar School in Los Angeles. They became classmates and friends with shared musical interests. Afterward, their paths diverged for a while. Navarro went to study at Notre Dame High School in California, while Avery remained in Los Angeles and attended Loyola High School for Boys.
Formation of Jane's Addiction
Navarro later met Stephen Perkins, who was dating Avery's sister, Rebecca, and eventually married her. It was Rebecca who suggested Perkins as the drummer for the emerging band Jane's Addiction. The group was finally formed in 1985 (some sources say 1986) with Perry Farrell on vocals, Dave Navarro on guitar, Eric Avery on bass, and Stephen Perkins on drums. They remained together until 1991.
Reunion and Solo Project
After several reunion performances, Jane's Addiction officially reformed in their original lineup in 2008, with Eric Avery once again becoming a member. In March 2009, the band performed at the Southwest Music festival in Austin. Throughout his career, Avery also collaborated with other bands such as Garbage and played in clubs with Polar Bear and Dave Navarro's band, Deconstruction.
Simultaneously, Avery worked on his solo project. His debut solo album, released in April 2008, was recorded at Dangerbird Records. The album quickly caught the attention of fans of both Eric Avery and Jane's Addiction.
