Erica Bartolina is a talented track and field athlete from the United States. She specializes in pole vaulting and represents the United States national team.

Early Life and Education

Erica Bartolina was born on May 15, 1980, in Corvallis, Oregon. From a young age, Bartolina showed an interest in sports and athletics. She attended Philomath High School in Oregon and successfully graduated in 1998.

During her college years at Texas A&M University, Erica began participating in junior competitions and tournaments. In 2001, Bartolina achieved her first successes at the national level, winning the Big 12 Indoor competition with a height of 3.91 meters. She later followed it up with victories at the Dr. Pepper Invite (3.65 meters) and Tellez (3.85 meters) competitions.

Professional Career

The following year began auspiciously for Erica, winning gold at the Longhorn Invite with a height of 4.05 meters. She also dominated the Big 12 Champion competition with an impressive performance. However, Bartolina only managed to secure the 11th place at the prestigious NCAA Outdoors competition.

In 2003, Bartolina continued to compete in high-level tournaments and competitions, consistently improving her results. The next season proved to be her best, coinciding with the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Erica qualified for the Olympic Trials and finished in 9th place with a height of 4.10 meters.

Simultaneously, Bartolina focused on local tournaments, showcasing her skills at the Texas A&M Invite where she finished second. She also won a bronze medal at Atascadero (4.40 meters) and secured the fifth position in Modesto. In 2005, she achieved fourth place in the pole vault at the USA Indoors Championship.

In the following year, Erica emerged victorious in several tournaments, including the LSU Alumni Gold and Tiger Classic. At the 2008 Olympic Trials, she finished in third place. Bartolina also had a commendable performance at the Olympics, bringing joy to her fans.

Personal Life

Erica Bartolina currently resides and trains in Hammond, Louisiana. She is coached by her husband, Mike Bartolina. Her personal best in pole vaulting is an impressive 4.55 meters.
