Early Life and Family

Erik Björnsen was born in Winthrop, Washington. He is the brother of fellow Olympic skier Sadie Björnsen.

Early Career

Björnsen made his World Cup debut on December 8, 2012, and recorded his first top-30 finish in the same event. To date, he has achieved three top-30 finishes in World Cup events, one in individual races and two in team races.

Olympic Games

At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Björnsen competed in five events:

15 km classical style: 38th place

Skiathlon: 42nd place
Relay: 11th place
Sprint: 39th place
Team sprint: 6th place
World Championships

Björnsen has participated in one World Championship event, the 2013 World Championships. His best individual result was 48th place in the 15 km freestyle race.

Equipment

Björnsen uses skis and boots produced by Fischer.
