Norwegian Ski Jumper
Daniël-André Tande is a well-known Norwegian ski jumper and three-time world champion in ski flying. He has also won multiple stages of the World Cup.
Early Career
Tande made his debut in the World Cup ski flying competition in Bad Mitterndorf, Austria on January 11, 2014, where he finished in 31st place. A month later, he was selected to represent Norway in the Olympic Games in Sochi. However, due to his weaker performance compared to other team members, Tande did not compete in any official events.
Rise to Success
Tande achieved his first victory in the World Cup on November 22, 2015, in Klingenthal, Germany, at the start of the season. In January 2016, he won a gold medal in ski flying at the World Championships in Bad Mitterndorf, Austria, as part of the Norwegian team.
Record-Breaking Achievement
A month later, Tande set a new record for the longest ski jump on a modernized ski flying hill in Kuopio, reaching a distance of 136 meters. This broke the previous record set by Masahiko Harada in 1998.
