Erica Lawler, an American athlete and hockey player, is often compared to Wayne Gretzky and is considered the greatest female hockey player in the country. These accolades are well-deserved, as she has repeatedly demonstrated her talents both in NCAA games and major international competitions.
Early Years
Erica Lawler started playing hockey at Cushing Academy, where she won the Betty Davis Award three times as the best athlete in her class. She later attended college while continuing her sports career.
College Career
Lawler joined the Wisconsin Badgers, a team in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Her contribution to the team was invaluable, as she helped them win the NCAA championship title three times in 2006, 2007, and 2009. Lawler played in 163 games during her four seasons with the Badgers, setting a college record. She ranks 7th in all-time goals scored and 2nd in all-time assists.
