Success Overseas

The following season, Grou returned to North America. In 2010, after capturing the Eddie Shore Award for being the top defenseman in the American Hockey League, he inked a deal with Russian powerhouse Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod. During the 2010-11 season, he emerged as a prolific scorer, amassing 25 points in 38 games.

On May 10, 2011, Grou joined HC Dinamo Minsk, a team from Belarus. However, his tenure was short-lived. After just four games, he was loaned to the team's farm club and placed on waivers. Two days later, Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk, a Russian club, acquired his rights and assumed his contract.
