Erkan Petekkaya began his journey into the world of theater and cinema at a young age. Born on December 11, 1970, in the eastern Turkish city of Elazig, he spent his childhood years with his sister. The young Petekkaya moved to Istanbul with his family and completed his secondary education.

Driven by a passion for the arts, Petekkaya enrolled in the Drama Department of Anatolian University in Eskisehir. Despite facing financial constraints, he worked as a gardener, vendor, and bartender alongside his studies to support his educational pursuits.

Petekkaya began appearing in episodic roles for Turkish films and series during his university years. However, these initial ventures failed to gain him significant recognition. In 2000, at the age of 28, he achieved a breakthrough with a role in the television series "Beautiful Days."

Petekkaya's career reached a turning point in 2005 when he starred as Ömer Aslanbas in the drama series "Princess of the Cotton Fields." This critically acclaimed role propelled him to stardom.

A Master of Complexity

Throughout the ensuing years, Petekkaya continued to deliver exceptional performances. In 2010, he portrayed an unrepentant villain in "Priceless Time." Despite the character's evil nature, Petekkaya's on-screen chemistry with Aras Bulut was widely praised.
