Errol Bulut: A Journey from Young Talent to Coaching Success
Early Career and European SuccessErrol Bulut began his footballing journey in Germany, honing his skills at various youth academies. In 1995, he joined Turkish giants Fenerbahçe after a stint with Eintracht Frankfurt. With Fenerbahçe, Bulut made his debut in the Süper Lig and secured his first major trophy, the Turkish Cup. Despite a return to Frankfurt in 1999, he struggled to break into the starting lineup and eventually returned to Turkey.
Career in Various Leagues
In the early 2000s, Bulut played for several clubs both in Turkey and abroad. He had loan spells at Trabzonspor and Adanaspor, followed by a stint at Greek club Panionios, where he earned recognition as the league's best foreign player. In 2003, he returned to Turkey and joined Bursaspor before moving to German side TSV 1860 Munich.
Thriving at Olympiacos
After a brief time with Olympiacos Piraeus, Bulut established himself as a key player. In his first year, he helped the club win the championship alongside world-class talent like Rivaldo and Yaya Touré. He also played in the Champions League and lifted the 2005-06 Greek Cup. However, his contract was terminated before the end of his second season.
Later Playing Career
In 2007, Bulut moved to Ukraine and joined FC Metalurh Donetsk, where he played until 2009. He returned to Greece and played for Olympiacos Volos (2009-10) and OFI Crete (2011). Bulut ended his playing career with Veria in 2012.
Coaching Career
Since retiring as a player, Bulut has transitioned into coaching. He served as an assistant coach at Kartalspor, Yeni Malatyaspor, Elazığspor, and İstanbul Başakşehir before returning to Yeni Malatyaspor in 2017. In 2019, he became the club's head coach, guiding them to promotion to the Süper Lig. Bulut continues to lead Yeni Malatyaspor and has been instrumental in their recent successes.
