Spanish Designer

When Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan became a creative consultant at the fashion house 'Emanuel Ungaro' in September 2009, Estrella Arks had to work with her on the new spring collection. Unfortunately, the shows turned out to be a disaster - it seems that the Ungaro collections have never received such devastating reviews in the global press. Curiously, at the same time in Paris, Arks presented her own collection, which journalists called 'undeniably talented'. Arks likes to play with new clean forms combined with a distinctly feminine, sensual, and poetic style. The apparent simplicity of her collections, simple but refined silhouettes, is an artistic expression of women's personal value and attractiveness.

Biography of Estrella Arks

Estrella Arks was born in Barcelona in 1974 and studied in London at one of the world's most prestigious design schools - Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, where she earned a master's degree with distinction. Afterward, the aspiring designer gained experience in renowned fashion houses, including 'Hussein Chalayan', 'Emilio Pucci', 'Nina Ricci', 'Cacharel', 'Christian Lacroix', and 'Prada'. She worked as a fashion journalist for Spanish 'Vogue' and collaborated with French artist Daniel Firman, working on various projects in major art collections.

Arks first presented her own clothing line in 2007 during Paris Fashion Week and has been showcasing all her collections in Paris since then. In 2009, Arks was offered the position of head designer at the fashion house 'Ungaro', replacing Esteban Cortazar, who categorically did not want to work with American actress Lindsay Lohan. It is worth noting that shortly before this, Lohan agreed to serve as the company's artistic director or consultant. Together, they developed one collection, after which the work stalled. Lohan left the company in March 2010, and Arks resigned as the head designer in April 2010. According to Arks' representative, the reason was irreconcilable disagreements related to the brand's creative direction.

After 'Ungaro', Arks worked on creating costumes for The Royal Ballet company. The premiere of their new work, 'Aimanter', took place at the Muse-a-Muse dance festival in Lagrasse, France. Arks designed the wardrobe for the principal dancers of the company, Mara Galeazzi and Edward Watson. Their costumes marked Estrella's debut in the world of classical dance. Interestingly, the spring-summer 2011 collection by Estrella Arks clearly bears the imprint of her passion for classical ballet.
