Early Life
Yana Igorevna Shvets, known to her fans as Eva Bushmina, was born in the Luhansk region of Ukraine. She adopted her mother's maiden name, Bushmina, as part of her stage name.
Education and Career Beginnings
Bushmina began taking vocal lessons at age 12 but initially struggled with the sound of her own voice. Through hard work and dedication, she eventually developed her desired vocal tone.
After graduating high school at age 17, Bushmina and her family relocated to Kyiv, Ukraine. She enrolled in the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, majoring in pop vocals. There, she studied alongside future pop star Nastya Kamenskyi, with whom she maintains a close friendship.
Bushmina's musical journey began as a soloist of the band Lucky and a dancer for the ballet The Best. She also briefly hosted the TV show "Guten Morgen" on the M1 channel.
Breakthrough with "Fabrika Zirok" and "VIA Gra"
In 2009, Bushmina auditioned for the Ukrainian reality TV show "Fabrika Zirok" and emerged as one of the finalists. During the show, she secured a fifth-place finish.
In early 2010, Bushmina was offered a contract to join the popular female vocal trio "VIA Gra." She made her debut with the group in March 2010, replacing former member Tatiana Kotova.
"LAYAH" Project
In 2016, Bushmina announced the closure of the "Eva Bushmina" project and the launch of a new one titled "LAYAH." This Sanskrit word signifies "dissolution" and represents Bushmina's desire to return to her true self. She resumed using her real name, Yana, and adopted a more authentic image.
Personal Life
Bushmina married businessman Dmitry Lanov, son of former Ukrainian politician Vladimir Lanov, in 2012. They welcomed a daughter, Edita, in 2013.
