Early Life and Education
Eva Herzigová was born on March 10, 1973, in Litvínov, Czechoslovakia. Her parents were a secretary and an electrician at a mining company. Despite her athletic pursuits in gymnastics, basketball, and skiing, they initially discouraged her from pursuing a modeling career.
Modeling Breakthrough
At the age of 16, Eva attended a casting call for Metropolitan Models and was selected. Despite her lack of experience, she quickly gained recognition for her striking features: blonde hair, blue eyes, and a slender frame.
International Success
In 1992, Eva rose to fame after appearing in a Guess? advertising campaign. Her iconic "Look Me in the Eye" posters and advertisements for Victoria's Secret cemented her status as a global fashion icon. She graced the covers of numerous magazines, including Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, and Playboy.
Brand Collaborations
Eva established partnerships with renowned brands such as Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Gianni Versace, Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton, L'Oréal, and Roberto Cavalli. Her versatility extended to campaigns for both luxury and mass-market products.
Personal Life
In 1996, Eva married Jon Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres, but the marriage ended two years later. In 2007, she gave birth to a son, George Marsay, with Italian businessman Gregorio Marsiaj. Despite their long-term relationship, they have not officially married.
Transition to Film
After the birth of her son, Eva announced her retirement from modeling to focus on acting. She made her film debut in "Diabolik" (2002) and has since appeared in several films and television series, including "The Last Summer" (2009) and "Miss Marple: A Caribbean Mystery" (2013).
