Biography of Jiah Khan

Jiah Khan, a British-American actress, model, and singer, gained popularity through her roles in Indian films. She was born as Nafisa Rizvi Khan on February 20, 1988, in New York City, into a Muslim family. Her parents were Ali Rizvi Khan and Rabiya Amin, an Indian actress active in the 1980s. Khan grew up in London before moving to Mumbai, hoping to conquer Bollywood. Her passion for acting began at the age of six when she was impressed by watching the comedy-musical "Rangeela" featuring Urmila Matondkar.

Khan studied opera singing and recorded six tracks in the pop genre by the age of 16. She attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Manhattan but left when she was offered film roles. Khan also extensively studied dance forms such as salsa, belly dancing, Kathak, and lambada. In 2004, she prepared to play a role in the musical "Tumsa Nahin Dekha" but was considered too young for the part, which was eventually played by Diya Mirza.

In 2007, when she turned 18, Jiah finally made her big-screen debut in the thriller romance "Nishabd." The film's box office performance was lackluster, and the response from critics was mixed. Breakthrough Role

In 2008, Jiah starred in the psychological thriller "Ghajini," an Indian remake of the same name. She played Sunitha, a medical student investigating the story of a businessman portrayed by Aamir Khan. Khan received mixed reviews for her performance, with critics agreeing that her appearance in the film was too fragmented.

Final Works and Tragic End

A few months before her death, Jiah Khan signed contracts for three films with "South Indian films" and the Hindi version of the drama "Yaaradi Nee Mohini." On June 3, 2013, Jiah was found dead in her apartment in Juhu, Mumbai, and it was suspected that she had taken her own life by hanging. A suicide note was discovered by her sister, Kavita, on June 7. The note, spanning six pages, revealed Jiah's intention to end her life and mentioned a man who had treated her poorly, presumably her lover. Her mother, Rabiya Amin, made the decision to make the note public.

On June 10, 2013, Suraj Pancholi, reportedly Jiah's boyfriend, was arrested and charged with abetting her suicide. He was released on bail by the Bombay High Court on July 2, 2013.
