Early Life and Education

Evaristo Felice dall'Abaco, an Italian composer, violinist, and cellist of the Baroque era, was born in Verona, Italy, into a family of musicians. His father, Damiano dall'Abaco, was a guitar player. Evaristo Felice studied violin and cello under the tutelage of Giuseppe Torelli.

Musical Career

Dall'Abaco began his musical career in Modena with violinist Tommaso Antonio Vitali. In 1704, he was appointed as a chamber musician at the court of Bavarian Elector Maximilian II Emmanuel. After the Battle of Blenheim, he accompanied the elector, who was also the governor of the Spanish Netherlands, to Brussels.

Influence of French Music

During his stay in Brussels, dall'Abaco immersed himself in French music, which had a profound impact on his compositions. In Brussels, his son Giuseppe Clemente, a renowned cellist, was born.

Later Career

Upon the return to Munich, Evaristo Felice dall'Abaco became a court Kapellmeister. He held this position until 1740, showcasing his exceptional skills as a composer of instrumental chamber music.
