Early Life and Education
Yevgeny Ivanovich Ageyev was born on January 28, 1906, in the town of Kuznetsk (now in the Penza Oblast). He graduated from the Saratov Theater College.
Theater Career
Ageyev performed in theaters across Russia, including Kharkiv, Astrakhan, Arkhangelsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Orekhovo-Zuevo, Moscow, and Odessa. During World War II, he joined the Odessa Russian Drama Theater, which was evacuated to Saratov and later performed on the Karelian Front.
In 1943, he became a leading actor at the Chelyabinsk Drama Theater, where he remained for 27 years until 1976. From 1957 to 1963, he performed at the Omsk Drama Theater.
Ageyev portrayed various roles throughout his theater career, including:
King Lear in Shakespeare's "King Lear"
The Mayor in Gogol's "The Government Inspector"Skalozub in Griboyedov's "Woe from Wit"
Lopakhin in Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard"

Schwandya in Trenev's "Lyubov Yarovaya" (a role particularly dear to him)
Towards the end of his life, he played Franz Joseph in Orlov's "Josef Schweik against Franz Joseph" and the Patriarch in Skvortsov's "Alena Arzamasskaya," showcasing both his comedic and tragic abilities.

Ageyev's wife, Inessa Grigorievna Baratova, was also an actress. He passed away on May 10, 1976, and was buried in the Assumption Cemetery in Chelyabinsk.
