Early Life and Education
Yevhen Zhovtiak was born on March 19, 1961, in Ukraine. He obtained his engineering degree in aircraft production from the Kharkiv Aviation Institute.
Career in Industry and Government
From 1984 to 1990, Zhovtiak worked at the Zhulyansky Machine-Building Plant. Subsequently, he held positions as head of the planning and economic department at the Kyiv Experimental Production and Advertising Combine (1990-1992) and head of the entrepreneurship and privatization sector at the Kyiv-Svyatoshinsky district administration (1992-1993). From 1993 to 1994, he served as a chief specialist in the department of property and entrepreneurship at the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers.
Political Career
Zhovtiak was elected to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) three times: in 1994, 1998, and 2002. From February 2005 to May 2006, he held the position of governor of the Kyiv Oblast State Administration.
