Early Life and Tech Prodigy
Fahim Saleh was born in Saudi Arabia to Bangladeshi parents. His family's frequent relocations and job changes led them to settle in Rochester, New York. Saleh developed a passion for programming at an early age, creating numerous online projects.
Entrepreneurial Ventures
Driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact, Saleh founded his first company, Pathao, while still in high school. The ride-hailing service gained popularity in Nepal and Bangladesh. He also co-founded a motorcycle taxi startup, which faced challenges after the Nigerian city of Lagos banned motorcycle taxis in 2020.
A Rising Star
Saleh's success led to him being dubbed the "Elon Musk" of Bangladesh. He had a wide circle of friends and was followed on Instagram by former President Barack Obama. He recently moved into a luxury Manhattan apartment.
Tragic End
Tragedy struck on July 14th when Saleh's body was discovered beheaded and dismembered in his Lower East Side apartment. After neighbors heard a harrowing scream, his sister alerted police who found Saleh's body in pieces. An electric saw was found near the torso, while his head and other body parts were discovered in garbage bags elsewhere in the apartment. The motive for the brutal murder remains under investigation.
